Dental bridges are an effective treatment if you have one or more missing teeth. A dental bridge, which is made up of two crowns for the teeth, is placed on either side of the gap. This holds the fake tooth that sits in between. We use gold, silver, porcelain or other composite mixtures to make the fake tooth in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Depending on your condition, the bridge would be supported either by your natural teeth or dental implants. After the procedure, a good oral hygiene routine is suggested to increase the life of these bridges.
At Dentique, Dr. Rahbar will suggest the best option depending on your needs. Porcelain fixed bridges are one of the most preferred options amongst patients, as they resemble the natural color of your teeth.
WHAT DOES THE PORCELAIN FIXED BRIDGE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
A bridge treatment usually involves two visits to our clinic. The first visit consists of preparing the teeth for the treatment. Here, our professional dentist would remove a portion of the enamel to create room for the crown to sit. Once this is over, an impression of your teeth is taken. To protect the bare teeth and gums, you would be fitted with a temporary bridge.
On your second visit, our dentist would remove the temporary bridge and fit the permanent bridge in place. This would be followed by testing and adjustments to ensure you have a comfortable bite. In certain cases, you may require multiple visits to our clinic to ensure a comfortable fitting.
THE BENEFITS OF DENTAL BRIDGES
- Dental bridges can restore your smile and are natural in appearance
- You can overcome chewing and speech-related problems as bridges distribute your bite properly
- They can firmly hold your remaining teeth in position and prevent drifting
- Bridges are one of the easiest and least expensive procedures and require only two sittings
- With good oral hygiene, bridges can last for 5-7 years, and sometimes even longer
